Downtown Los Angeles welcomed The Broad Museum this past September, and I dropped in to check it out this weekend. It houses art work by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and several other magnificent contemporary artists. Thank you to the founders, Eli and Edythe Broad for satiating the art community of Los Angeles with an outstanding collection of art work.
As of now the admission price is $0! You can try your luck in the standby line, but entrance is not guaranteed. The museum is located at 221 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012. If parking in downtown turns you off, there is a parking structure located underneath the museum. You can have your ticket validated, but if you enter after 5pm it is a flat fee of $12.00. Oh, and so you know, it’s pronounced Brod with a long o. I hope you can make it!
